The late Chris Cornell’s second solo studio album, “Carry On,” has received its first wide commercial release on vinyl via Interscope Records. Originally released in 2007, the new double-LP edition marks the formal vinyl debut for the record across major physical formats, following a highly restricted club pressing earlier this year.
The standard retail package is presented on 180-gram black vinyl, while alternative configurations include an exclusive picture disc version. Audio engineer Levi Seitz completed a new audio remaster for the project at Blackbelt Mastering in Seattle, Washington. The tracks are housed in a gatefold picture sleeve jacket.
The wide commercial street date follows an initial limited run of 3,000 numbered units distributed in April through the Interscope Vinyl Collective on marble-colored vinyl. Early copies from that initial manufacturing batch required a post-release fulfillment correction by the record label due to interior lyric booklet printing anomalies that did not meet quality control requirements.
This version of Carry On expands upon the original 14-song track listing by introducing a pair of bonus tracks, “Today” and “Roads We Choose.” The 2026 reissue also introduces a previously unreleased, elongated introduction to Cornell’s skeletal interpretation of the Michael Jackson pop single, “Billie Jean.”
Additionally, the track listing retains “You Know My Name,” the cinematic theme song Cornell co-wrote and performed for the 2006 James Bond franchise reboot film Casino Royale. The album historically represented a stylistic pivot for the Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman, utilizing a broader palette of instrumentation and songwriting styles distinct from his earlier Seattle grunge catalog.
