ScHoolboy Q is preparing his return to music with a new studio album titled Thank Que, revealing that the 12-track project is nearing completion. The Top Dawg Entertainment rapper shared the news through Instagram Stories, writing, “New chapter,” before adding, “Wrapping up this 12-song album called ‘Thank Que.’ Been working on this for a minute. I’m coming back.” While no release date has been announced, the post confirmed that his next full-length release is on the horizon.
Thank Que will serve as the follow-up to 2024’s Blue Lips, an album widely praised by critics for its ambitious production and lyrical depth. The record debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 and featured collaborations with artists including Freddie Gibbs, Rico Nasty, Ab-Soul and Childish Major, helping reestablish ScHoolboy Q as one of hip-hop’s most distinctive voices after a lengthy break between studio albums.
The upcoming LP also represents a significant personal milestone. Earlier this year, ScHoolboy Q revealed he had stopped smoking marijuana after years of heavy use, explaining that he felt he had gotten everything he could from the habit and wanted to set a positive example for his daughters. Thank Que is expected to be the first album he has written and recorded entirely while sober, marking what the rapper has described as a fresh creative chapter.
Although details about the album’s sound, producers and guest appearances remain under wraps, the announcement has generated excitement across the hip-hop community. The project arrives as ScHoolboy Q celebrates a decade since the release of Blank Face LP and follows a busy period that included touring in support of Blue Lips and appearances alongside Kendrick Lamar.
