Dasha shares the tongue-in-cheek track ‘Mad About It’

Dasha released her latest single, an upbeat country-pop track titled “Mad About It,” which serves as the follow-up to her major commercial breakthrough single, “Austin (Boots Stopped Workin’).”

Mad About It was co-written by Dasha alongside Charlotte Sands and Bardo Novotony, who is also Dasha’s brother. Lyrically, the song utilizes a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek perspective to examine the chaotic aftermath of a relationship ending, focusing on the forced facade of pretending to be unaffected by a breakup rather than dwelling on traditional sadness.

In a press statement regarding the creative process behind the tracking, the singer-songwriter emphasized the relaxed environment in which the song was conceived. “While we were writing it, there was no pressure for ‘Mad About It’ to be a hit song; we were just genuinely having so much fun and laughing,” Dasha noted. “We were joking about how petty can we make this song? How much sarcasm can we pour into this, and how much of my personality can be seen in these lyrics? We honestly had such a good time writing it, I think that’s where the magic of this song came from.”

The debut of “Mad About It” also follows an active period of industry recognition for the performer, which included an appearance at the Stagecoach Festival.
